My name is Crystal lee. I am 27, a mother to a seven year old, and a partner to a wonderful man. Aside from my daily jobs such as mother, house keeper, nurse, chauffer, chef, class-room volunteer, friend counsellor, and full time job employee, I am a college student. I am currently working towards My transfer degree in Elementary Education. Throwing college into the mix of daily life has been quite an adventure! Though, it has been an enjoyable, and a rewarding task! I am also pleased to see the people around me, fulfilling their needs, and wants. Many people I encounter in my classes are much older then I, and some have left the work force all together, in order to accomplish a life time goal. Which that, in its-self, is a brave accomplishment. Kudos to all of you who have taken the steps to follow your dreams! I would like to give you all something to think of before you face each day here at RCC. I recently had a class mate say to me “I realized today that if I do not get an “A” in this class, it is not the end of the world.” Here are my thoughts: True, the world would not end if you do not get an “A”. Though your world would be different, and a better place to exist, if you strived to earn an “A”. By telling yourself it is “OK” to accept less than the best, you are telling yourself that it is “OK” to fail. You , regardless of age, have taken on an opportunity of education and empowerment. Do not give yourself permission to fail. I look forward to meeting as many of you as I can, and it is a pleasure to be a part of RCC with all of you!
